Crazy Political Campaigns On Cartoon Channels

Published by mstokes1 under News Edit This

After watching the Political Campaigns this year, I can’t help but shake my head in disbelief as to how they have changed over the years.

My children cannot even watch Nickelodeon channel without occasional ‘kiddie campaigns’ (as I call them) coming on in between shows. What? Now they want the votes of 4-10 year olds? Or rather, they are trying to influence our children, as to what ‘party’ they should be, in hopes they will keep this in mind when they are 18. Regardless of what their intent is, I think it is beyond stupid. I hate to burst their happy political bubble, but I really do have more influence on what my children believe than their commercials do.

First of all, the Presidential Nominees and all individuals in both (Republican and Democratic) campaigns should start acting mature. What ever happened to good old fashioned debates?

As far as the News Channels and Media, I’ve seen more smearing this year, this campaign, than ever. The individuals who actually consider this entertainment, should just tune in to the Soap Operas, and leave the News Channels for fair and balanced reporting. I do not watch the majority of the News Channels anymore, and will not, until they change their standards.

And last but not least, let our children have the cartoon channels back without trying to brain wash them at such an early age!

Laughter Is The Best Medicine

Published by mstokes1 under opinions Edit This

Most people love to laugh, and every person has their own sense of humor. Sometimes humor can be found in the least expected places. When you search for jokes or humor online, you will get ten million results, but a lot of the sites have the same stuff. The same jokes, or the same pics, not much originality to them.

Today, while I was visiting sites on entrecard, I came across a site titled “The Worse Blog - Just another crappy blog” (http://theworseblog.com)

I was taking the url and title at its word, thinking it was going to be a crappy blog. Boy was I wrong! As I have stated in another post, you can’t judge a site by its title…. today once again proved it.

By the time I got to the bottom of the page, I was laughing so hard that I was hurting.

This site is not your average site, for certain. The author has a naturally comical way with explaining her every day situations in life as you will see in her articles, “I Hate Public Bathrooms,” “Anchors Away,” “Stuff I Hate,” “Butt Out,” and others.

In closing, I must say that “The Worse Blog” is by far one of The Best Blogs that I have come across, and I highly recommend it to all.

Seeking Holiday Blogs To Add To Blogroll

Published by mstokes1 under opinions Edit This

We now have an estimated one month until Halloween, two months until Thanksgiving, and three months until Christmas!

I am on the lookout for ‘Holiday’ blogs to add to my list of links (blogroll).

Readers love Halloween and Christmas stories, Shoppers love Sales and Coupons, and we can all use ideas and tips on decorating, safety, dealing with stress through out the holidays, etc.

As each Holiday ends, I will remove the links and add links to the next Holidays (Valentines Day, Easter, etc.)

If you know of any type of ’Holiday’ blogs, feel free to post a comment with the link and title. Coupons, Tips, Ideas, most any ’Holiday’ blog pertaining to the nearing Holidays.

Entrecard (My Experience)

Published by mstokes1 under opinions Edit This

I must share my experience that I had with Entrecard.

Just a few days ago, I joined them. I thought it was a pretty neat site, unlike anything I’ve really seen before. And being it was one of the only sites that I know of, that you use with Today, I knew I had to give it a try.

It is somewhat user-friendly, but does take a while to figure out. Reading the E-Book helps a lot with questions you may have.

I thoroughly enjoyed going to campaign area, visiting other peoples sites and dropping on them. You will come across a variety of sites that way. The titles can sometimes fool you, like the saying, “You can’t judge a book by it’s cover,” well, you can’t judge a blog by it’s title.

Anyway, so for a couple of days, I visit sites, I drop, I do a little advertising on others sites, I participate in a couple of contests to get some ec, I accept requests for advertising…. Everything was going great.

This morning, I had 237+ ec.. Which for me, for a couple days time, I felt was good. I figured I would slowly make my way up to doing more and more.

At some of the sites that I would try to drop on, it would state ‘invalid.’ And this made me wonder what that meant. I used the feedback form on the bottom of the dashboard page, and sent them a message, stating that some sites I visited were doing that. I asked them what could be causing it, and how I could fix it?

A few hours later, when I got back online, I logged into my email, and went to EC to approve an advertising request. After approving, I looked to see how many ec it would be to advertise with the people who had just advertised with me. It was cheap, 16ec. So after I clicked on advertise, I was informed that I did not have enough EC. I was like, “What?” Because I knew that this morning I had over 230.

I returned to my dashboard, sure enough, I had 4 ec. I was in a state of panic. I decided to check ‘transactions,’ and there was a comment in there about a penalty. Unsure of what I could have done wrong, I went and read the ‘Help’ pages.

I emailed support, and also left them a message again on the feedback form on the dashboard.

I have decided to cancel my account with them and not even worry about it. I have enough daily stress in my life without having to be falsely accused of something I have not done. I did not break any rules, I did not do anything wrong.

So that was my experience with entrecard, and I just want to let others know. Anyone that is thinking of joining, but unsure, I wouldn’t advise it.

If I would have known they did these types of things to innocent people, I would never have joined.

I work my tail off online, just trying to make a few extra bucks here and there. I participate in many programs, and I spend a good bit of time on different sites. And whenever I do come across any sites that are unfair, like entrecard, I attempt to let my fellow networkers know…. So that hopefully, I can save some other people the same stress that I have incurred.

Edited To Add: It appears there was a glitch in the system, and some others experienced this also. The site owner has refunded ec (credits). This was very nice of him, and gives me the chance to further review the site.

Internet Bullies

Published by mstokes1 under opinions Edit This

It’s easy to ‘meet’ so many people online. Between all of the forums, groups, blogs, and social networks, you are going to find a variety of people and personalities.

Some of the people you will not like, and some you will like.

The ones that you like and form a friendship with, you will give them your email address. You will forward each other things, and discuss things you have in common.

The ones that you do not like, it is best to attempt to stay away from them at all costs. First of all, if you argue with this person online and things get out of hand, you could be banned from the website. If you have friends at the site, you will not want to be banned.

Also, the ones that seem a little crazy, might actually be. If you have any true personal information about you online, they can find your phone number and address. This is why some people always put false information.

There are internet bullies out there, that will stop at nothing. And you may wonder why the website owners do not ban the bullies. It could be that the owners are afraid themselves, or they are friends with the bullies, or they could be on the verge of being banned and no one knows it.

While some site owners have their own rules, and will terminate members with such attitudes immediately, other sites will let it go on for months or even years without taking action. The sites that do nothing, will find themselves losing members, the good people will eventually all fade away.

To most people, the internet is a hobby, an interest. When online, the person is looking for something fun, funny, interesting, etc. And no one wants to spend their leisure time being bashed by other individuals. Everyone has enough daily stress without this added to it.

In reality, the only way to steer clear of any potential internet crazed bullies, is to not post anything anywhere. And if you do, definitely ignore the bullies and report them to the Administration of the website as soon as possible.

Should The Government Bail Out the Mortgage Companies?

Published by mstokes1 under News Edit This

Should we bail out the Mortgage Companies? How would that affect Americans?

$700 Billion is a lot of money. Imagine what the Americans could do with this.

The Mortgage Companies (AIG, Fannie Mae, Lehman, Freddie Mac) have seemed to get themselves in a Financial Bind.

Now the Government wants to use the Tax-Payers money to Bail them out. This is money that the Americans have already paid in to Uncle Sam.

However, once the Government has to let go of this large amount of money, putting themselves in a financial bind, who do you think is going to bail the Government out? The Americans, our taxes will rise.

They (The Mortgage Companies) have made their beds, they should be forced to lay in them. We did not put them in debt, it is not our responsibility to get them out. Let the over-paid executives in the companies put back some of the millions they have earned in the past 2 years to get it out of it’s financial bind.

The four companies are supposedly under investigation by the FBI. http://newsdaily.com/stories/tre48n03x-us-financial-bailout-fbi-news/

Many older individuals are having flash backs to the 1930’s Depression. Millions of Americans are in shock and disbelief at what could happen.

If we bail these companies out, what impression is that giving to the other large companies in America? That it is ok for them to overpay themselves and go in debt because the Government will be there to back them up?

An online Petition http://www.petitiononline.com/bailout/petition.html has over 12,400 for “Tax Payers Against A Wall Street and Mortgage Bailout”

Who Created Abortion?

Published by mstokes1 under Uncategorized Edit This

I received an email today from a friend, with a story in it about a woman who had survived abortion. Curious as to how many survive abortions, I performed a search on google. This is just one of the site that I came across:
http://joseromia.tripod.com/survivors.html

I think it is a sad thing that abortions were ever created, and I could not find an exact answer online for who created it.

But I do know of one excuse that is used to somewhat justify it, is that women were harming themselves, using coat hangers and other objects. Ok, So? The women that are crazy enough, let them do it. That is no excuse to have a Doctor kill her baby just to satisfy her insanity. The Doctor and the Woman are both Pigs, so regardless which one you put the LIPSTICK on, it’s still murder.

To further clarify - I believe in abortion ONLY if a person is raped or incest is involved.

However, for a woman to say “Oops, I have 5 kids already, don’t need another… honey, let’s have an abortion, ok?”
For a parent to force their teenage daughter to have an abortion, or for women to use it as a form of Birth Control - is NO EXCUSE.

It is also not a good excuse because a person is poor, many loving couples are looking for children to adopt.

I believe that life begins at conception - and I believe the unborn babies have rights as do all other humans.

God Bless America! And thank God for freedom of speech.

Published by mstokes1 under opinions Edit This

God Bless America! And thank God for freedom of speech.

However, when does freedom of speech become a problem? Is it appropriate to put others down? Is it appropriate to put down an entire group of people, which consists of millions of people? Is it appropriate for the Media to be biased and sarcastic?

Isn’t it frustrating to see this type of behavior?

Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews have recently been removed from MSNBC Political Coverage. The sad thing is, these weren’t the only two Biased Reporters (or writers)

I commend MSNBC for taking this step, which had they not, their ratings would have continued to drop… But I also believe that many other News Channels and Newspapers should follow the same guidelines.

Ode to Bugs Bunny, Tweety and Tom & Jerry!

Published by mstokes1 under opinions Edit This

Ode to the older cartoons! When my children are watching cartoons, which is every day, thanks to the 10 cartoon only channels on Satellite…. I am so delighted to see them watching what I consider to be the Best cartoons (the cartoons that I use to watch when I was child… even though it was only on Saturday mornings). With the hundreds of new cartoons and even the adult cartoons on television now days, we have to really monitor what our children watch. Bugs Bunny is a favorite to many, with his ever popular question of “What’s up, Doc?” And innocent little Tweety with, “I tot I taw a puddy tat!” Ahh, the good ole cartoons.

John McCain vs Barack Obama

Published by mstokes1 under Politics Edit This

Nobody in the world is perfect. No one is ever going to be perfect.
Only God and his son, Jesus are perfect.

So many people are not sure who they want to vote for. Many also
complain that they do not want McCain in office.

No, John McCain is not perfect, as I stated, NO ONE is perfect.

But when it comes to making such a serious decision, that will affect
millions of Americans, that is when we really need to search our
Souls.

Though John McCain may have a temper at times, I believe I would much
prefer a man who has a backbone and will defend our Country when she
is in trouble.

Though I may not agree with every word out of John McCain’s mouth, I
do agree that children should not be murdered by partial-abortion
(which is where the Doctor stabs scissors into the childs head and
sucks his/her brains out with a suction, deflating the head)

Though I may worry about the age and health of John McCain, I would
prefer an American President as opposed to an Arab-American President
who will change our way of living to more of a Muslim style.

So regardless of what anyone has to say about John McCain, these
individuals need to take a long, hard look at his opposition. Stop
walking around with your eyes closed. The fact that the terrorists
support Barack Obama should be enough to scare everyone.

For those of you who have younger brothers or sisters,
stop and imagine this:

You mother was pregnant.. you knew she was pregnant..
You watched for months as her belly grew and you were excited that
you would soon have a little brother or sister.

Then one day she comes home and she is no longer pregnant.
She had been to the Doctor and had a partial-abortion, just because
she decided during the pregnancy that she did not want any more children
and did not want to go through the troubles of childbirth and hassles of adoption.

As a child, you have no idea what “partial-abortion” is, so you don’t
question it.

But as you get older, you become more curious and do some research on it.

You discover that this is something that takes place when the woman is
6-9 months pregnant. The Doctors deliver the baby, use scissors to stab the back of the
brain up through the skull, then suction the brains out causing the head to deflate.

At 6 months pregnant, many women have went into pre-mature labor and
the child ended up being healthy and fine. So no, this is not the same as a regular
abortion where they are killing
an egg or embryo. This is a human, a small defenseless baby that was
never given the chance.

If you do not have brothers or sisters, look at your spouse and
imagine if he/she wasn’t here today because their parents chose to have partial-abortion.

Or take a look at your children, do you regret having them? Do you
wish you would have had a partial-abortion with them?

After you have carefully imagined all of this… not just scrolled
through it quickly, but have actually thought about it and let it soak in, then you tell me that
partial-abortion needs to be legal.

And when you vote Obama into office, this is what you will get.

So yes, he may take away the Gun Ownership Rights. But do you think
that is going to eliminate the murder numbers? No. Why? Because the same amount of people will
still be murdered. It just won’t be adults, it will be babies.
