God Bless America! And thank God for freedom of speech.
God Bless America! And thank God for freedom of speech.
However, when does freedom of speech become a problem? Is it appropriate to put others down? Is it appropriate to put down an entire group of people, which consists of millions of people? Is it appropriate for the Media to be biased and sarcastic?
Isn’t it frustrating to see this type of behavior?
Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews have recently been removed from MSNBC Political Coverage. The sad thing is, these weren’t the only two Biased Reporters (or writers)
I commend MSNBC for taking this step, which had they not, their ratings would have continued to drop… But I also believe that many other News Channels and Newspapers should follow the same guidelines.

Well, freedom of speech is slightly skewed when it comes to the news. Those reporting the news are supposed to be unbiased and not give opinions. So, if they do so and excessively, then they are violating the rules they agreed to. Aside from the news, though, freedom of speech, though not always kind or politically correct, means anything goes…

Not anything, just most things. Slander and libel are still illegal, and there are some things you just don’t say in certain contexts. Free speech only goes so far; while I’d rather not put words into anyone’s mouth, I’m pretty sure the intent of freedom of speech is supposed to be “Do what you want as long as nobody gets hurt.”
Only words are far more dangerous a weapon than most people are willing to admit…
